The most important function of this website is to provide a living resource to supplement the published casebooks. It allows readers to go further where desired.
First and foremost, this website provides access to the original language version of the excerpts reproduced in the printed casebooks – whenever possible not limited to the bit which has actually been taken or translated into English for inclusion in the casebooks, but containing the "full text" of the original source materials (of course always in the original language).
Depending on the circumstances of the case, the original language version may either have been reproduced in text format on this website, or a hyperlink which will take you to an external website where the full text can be consulted may have been included. Whenever possible both solutions have been pursued at the same time.
Original (full text) versions of source materials can of course only be made available here in so far as not protected by copyright.
For the first volumes published in the Casebook series, the reproductions on this website are often confined to those parts which have effectively been translated for inclusion in a casebook. Whenever more extensive parts have been reproduced, efforts have been made to render this visible by colouring the additional part in green (though colouring has not yet been applied consistently throughout the website).
The hyperlinks to external websites have all been verified at the time of their inclusion, but may have become invalid afterwards. If so, please do not hesitate to report this using the broken links button.
For the Casebooks on Tort Law (Scope of Protection), Tort Law (1st edition), Contract Law (1st edition), Unjusitfied Enrichment and Non-Discimination Law the excerpts for which original (full text) versions have been made accessible appear as hyperlinks in the tables of content.
The extensive tables of contents of the Casebook on Consumer Law and Contract Law are a little more sophisticated. For excerpts followed by the symbol O the orgingal language version has been reproduced as text on this website, for excerpts followed by the symbol H a hyperlink to an external website has been included.
Although reproduced with due care, it cannot be guaranteed that the original language versions are reproduced without errors and therefore we strongly recommended to consult official sources whenever the accuracy of the text is crucial.
