A second edition of the casebook on Contract Law in the Ius Commune Series is currently in preparation. Like the first volume, the book will contain leading cases, legislation and other materials from the legal traditions within Europe, with a focus on English, French and German law as the main representatives of those traditions. The book will contain the basic texts and contrasting cases as well as extracts from the various international restatements (Vienna Sales Convention, UNIDROIT, Principles of European Contract Law and so on). Materials will be chosen and ordered so as to foster comparative study, and complemented with annotations and comparative overviews prepared by a multinational team.
The principal subjects covered in this book will again include: general issues, formation, validity, interpretation and contents, supervening events, remedies and third parties.
The Casebook is expected to be publsihed in the course of 2010.
